Conduct regularly-scheduled meetings with student to plan for the college admission process, including up to 25 hours of both in-person and research time exploring post-secondary fit for student. 

TG Advising will:

  • assess the student’s interests, strengths, needs and goals as they relate to choosing a college major and a college pathway.

  • conduct research on and provide lists of best fit schools for student.

  • brainstorm ideas with student for college essay topics, including college-specific supplemental responses.

  • provide know-how and understanding of college application tools to assist student with application completion.

  • make a plan for standardized testing.

  • create a customized timeline for all aspects of the application process.

  • recommend assessments and utilize tools to help students discover their optimal learning and living environment after high school.

  • evaluate and advise on extracurricular activities, including summer programs.

  • review demonstrated interest and its role in the admissions process.

  • make recommendations for college visits and surrounding activities.

  • provide reading recommendations to aid in college fit research.

  • make recommendations for high school course selection during scheduling.

  • review transcripts and student resumes for content, positioning and grammar. 

  • provide guidance and advice around candidates for letters of recommendation.

  • prepare for possible zoom or in-person interviews.

  • review scholarships, merit aid eligibility, and requirements for applying for financial aid.

  • review admission/financial aid offers, waitlist placement and deferrals.

  • provide access to CollegePlannerPro - the hub for the college application process, rich with application data, college search features, timeline planning, student reminders, and more.

If you are seeking guidance around specific aspects of the college admissions process, and don’t feel that you need the full benefits of a package, then an hourly package may work best for you.  Whether you need brainstorming ideas for your common application essay, revisions and editing, or a few sessions to explore college majors and campus preferences, we will work with you and your student to understand your session goals and make a plan to address solutions.
